For Design Miami/ 2017, The Future Perfect presented a new body of work from their roster of talent focusing on materiality and process.

Ceramic artist Eric Roinestad draws inspiration from the glass forms of Tomaso Buzzi and Carlo Scarpa for his new collection of hanging lamps. The work expands on his previous explorations in lighting with new shapes, scale and complexity. His totemic floor lamps refer to the costume design of Oskar Schlemmer for the Bauhaus, as do his mask-like modernist wall sculptures.

In addition, The Future Perfect debuts work from John Hogan, Reinaldo Sanguino, Christopher Stuart and Chris Wolston. Hogan’s large scale blown glass tables and objects exemplify the artists innovative mastery of glass technique. Ceramicist Reinaldo Sanguino shows his eponymous graffiti style on a new form of one-of-a-kind chairs entirely made from ceramic. Computer distorted pieces by Christopher Stuart derive their forms from ‘glitches’ produced by the normally-precise CAD design software.

New sand cast aluminum furniture from Chris Wolston weaves figurative and abstract forms to construct planes and volumes.
