BLUE GREEN WORKS

The Future Perfect is proud to present the inaugural exhibition of Manhattan-based design studio Blue Green Works. Founded in 2020 by Creative Director Peter B Staples, together with partners James McAvey and Dan Persechini, Blue Green is invested in a vision of producing design objects that possess a universal literacy. The studio’s first collection comprises two lighting series, titled ‘Palm’ and ‘Fiber’. Inspired by the beach modernism of The Fire Island Pines, this first body of work was conceptualized around the ideas of retreat and sanctuary, using textures and materials that evoke places of escape. ‘Palm’ and ‘Fiber’ are both currently on view at  Casa Perfect New York and at our Great Jones Street Gallery.

ABOUT BLUE GREEN WORKS

Blue Green Works is a Manhattan based design studio founded in 2020. With clear, honest construction, Blue Green combines carefully hand-formed materials with precision metal work. The studio is invested in making design objects with a purity that allows each piece to hold its own and have a conversation with the elements that surround. Blue Green’s visual language is informed by film, architecture, street culture and New York City. The inaugural collection containing the series Palm and Fiber were conceptualized around ideas of retreat and sanctuary: textures and materials that evoke places of escape – the energy and forms recalling a beach house, lake cabin, or ski chalet. Peter B Staples helms Blue Green as Creative Director, together with partners James McAvey and Dan Persechini. Longtime friends and collaborators, the studio’s leads bring years of industry experience and a deep understanding of design history to their process.
