Atelier Février’s My Block rug achieves an almost hypnotic effect with its hyper-graphic details and labyrinthine swirls. Florian Pretet, the company’s designer, drew inspiration from the quotidian matchstick and the kinetic patterns created when they were formed into patterns.
Comprised of 10% silk and 90% wool, the rug combines a super-contemporary design with a vestigial technique, the hand-knotted process perfected by artisans in the Nepalese Himalayas. Bold and contemporary, yet exuding the warmth of the handmade, the rug is an elevated fusion of cultures and styles.
