Chen Chen & Kai Williams
Brooklyn, New York-based designers Chen Chen and Kai Williams are known for their eclectic range of avant-garde furniture, functional products, and decorative objects - which include one-off and collectible works as well as commercial goods. The pair met while studying industrial design at The Pratt Institute, and launched their joint venture in 2011. With a mutual interest in transformative materials, their process relies heavily on experimentation - often with earthy materials like ceramics, stone and wood.

After making an indelible impression on the world of contemporary art and design with their range, ingenuity and expertise, Chen and Kai have demonstrated their lasting power as artists by embracing material exploration while demonstrating a unique command of their mediums. With what has become a renowned practice of manipulating stone through both industrial and haptic means, they consistently produce work that is instantly recognizable and highly sought-after, and has been included in The Venice Architecture Biennale, The Museum of Art and Design, The New York Times, among many other venues and publications.
