In the last fifteen years, the name DIMORESTUDIO has become synonymous with a world recognizable, highly idiosyncratic aesthetic - one that blurs the lines between art, design and fashion. In their own words, the studio “interprets memories and creates dreams,” to deliver lush, colorful and evocative spaces.

DIMORESTUDIO is the combined aesthetic vision of Britt Moran and Emiliano Salci. American-born Moran was raised in North Carolina and exposed to classical furnishings from a young age through a family firm. After studying biology and classics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he found himself in Milan teaching English before falling into interior design. Salci is from Arezzo, Tuscany, and was also immersed in the visual world as a child through his father’s modern furniture gallery. He would later take over the business, which led to a key art director role with Giulio Cappellini, where he worked with the likes of Jasper Morrison and Tom Dixon.

In 2003, Moran and Salci founded DIMORESTUDIO working with private residences and key clients. The duo chose the name “dimore,” which translates to “dwellings” in Italian, as it encapsulated the brand’s ability to bridge ancient and modern worlds.Three years after starting the studio they began producing furniture in Italy, with a range of chairs, lighting, sofas and bookshelves.

As their reputation grew, the studio were sought out by larger, more illustrious names. They created the much-photographed lighting installation at Ian Schrager’s Pump Room and they decorated the Paris restaurant Caffè Burlot for French hospitality titan Thierry Costes. More recently they’ve created successful hotels, including Paris’ Hotel Sant Marc and Casa Fayette in Guadalajara, Mexico for the Habita Group.

Today, the brand, with an almost academic knowledge of materials and techniques, is considered one of the most illustrious in the global design firmament. DIMORESTUDIO is known for rich, deep colors, interwoven historical periods, and unexpect materials and details. DIMORESTUDIO’s finely-attuned and historically sensitive, yet contemporary aesthetic has made them a hot ticket among top luxury brands, private clients and hoteliers around the world.
