BRICK, a collection of works by Dutch artist Floris Wubben, explores Floris’ interest in and connection to the history of brickmaking. For this collection, he has used clay sourced from the Dollard Polder, an area located in the Northern Netherlands. The clay is ideal for extrusion due to its naturally greasy texture, which allows for precise shaping and molding. The two chandeliers from this collection utilize the organic movement of Floris’ brick forms to replicate a bending of light through curved air.
