21.37 is a clustered configuration of thirty-seven 21 pendants hung from a round canopy. The drop lengths of the pendants are randomized between a client specified range of heights to variously clump together and trail off. In this installation, the pendants are designed to contact each other, taking on new forms as they are composed together. Inspired by the sporadic, discordant arrangement of barnacles on a rock surface, the 21 is fabricated from thin sheets of porcelain wrapped around a trumpet shaped borosilicate diffuser. Each diffuser houses a low voltage lamp. A strong contrast is established between the organically distributed soft light passing through the white porcelain skin and the sharp, crisp light passing through the borosilicate glass diffuser.

Suspension
Pendant lengths are pre-set during production and are not site adjustable. Lengths are determined by client upon order confirmation and fabricated by Bocci. Shortest and longest lengths must be provided and are recommended to be no less than 12″ apart to create an optimum cascade. Bocci will create a random selection of lengths throughout the minimum and maximum range provided.
