Extravagant minimalism is the defining trait of DIMORESTUDIO’s new Lampada 111, which debuted at 2017’s Salon del Mobile. Using a metal outer shell, which evinces the elegance of a Victorian birdcage, the light consists of a structural outer shell and an inner light-emitting column. Industrial, yet quixotic, the piece is suitable for a range of environments. A continuation of DIMORESTUDIO’s celebrated Progetto Non Finito collection (unfinished in English) each new piece within the 2017 collection, unveiled to great acclaim at 2017’s Salone del Mobile, exemplifies the Milanese studio’s highly idiosyncratic take on design. The expansive collection, which continues to grow, is all about contrast and design tension: darkness and light, rough and smooth, embellishment and restraint.
