4-6 Weeks Lead-Time
If we understand the notions of space and place as indicative of the material world we can assume that our understanding of space is related to the places we inhabit, and that it is interlinked with how we form an understanding of materials spatial context and how we emphasise value through their state, shape and function. As part of the exhibition I’m showcasing 3 objects which explores notions of space, place, and materiality by carefully engineering material compositions which allow objects to distort and expand beyond their original form, or if you will, the space it’s materiality inhabit, and the forces which they store. All three sculptures has been made by upcycling glass beads, marbles and shards which I’ve kept in my mothers jewelry box since childhood.
