Using clay for its intrinsic properties of elasticity and permanence. Manipulating with minimal steps. A dance or performance with the clay, stretching a slab and folding once. The visual experience of repetition becomes like a mantra, like a sound repeating. Petrifying a movement, like dogs slurping water or bunny ears flopping in the wind. Glazes splattered in a Oaxacan traditional style. The piece is a system of units or parts that can be scaled to any size.
