C01 is Eric Roinestad's first experiment in crafting a ceramic chair. Like his vessels, the chair is hand thrown in stoneware, and similarly emphasize form and texture. Roinestad is always looking at the present through a historic lens, and the inspiration for C01 comes from an ancient Roman stone chair, that has been simplified and reduced down to clean sculptural lines. The seat is caned to soften and warm the stoneware, and is also a nod to chairs of early 20th century, suggesting a kind of Deco Antiquity.
