Eric Roinestad is an American ceramicist, known for his ability to synthesize seemingly opposing aesthetics into wholly original works. His pieces - from sculptures to lighting - suggest a dialogue between the organic and the fabricated; the contemporary and the traditional. Integrating the spirit of California folk modernism with the designer’s own Scandinavian heritage, Roinestad combines conventional wheel-thrown processes with hand-built methods, giving his work a visceral, human feel. The result is an idiosyncratic body of work that is continuously evolving and released in a strictly limited edition series once every six months (and never replicated).
