Reflection

Following the conceptual premise that inspired the Kolho line, Jackson has included three diverse works from the last decade. They are to be considered a sampling representative of the artists fascination with humanity seeking proof of its existence found in our reflection in our natural environment. In Jackson's work, Solipsism and Anthropomorphism seem to be the positions we vacillate between in considering our position in relationship to our environment. We do not know what we do not experience and we are invisible without tangible proof which comes in a reflection of our image. This can take many shapes, and could include the naming of a mountain, capturing the image of the far side of the moon or putting a footprint on its surface. © Matthew Day Jackson.
