The exceptional volume and softness of Silas is the result of an extraordinarily complex finishing process. The original velvet structure of the textile is subjected to six days where the hair is repeatedly unraveled and beaten to make it swell and resume its shape. The whole procedure can also lead to variations in pile height. Finally the fabric is steam treated. This makes the surface extremely soft and voluminous as well as adds to the richness and depth of color. Silas is available in eleven colors ranging from rich golden and neutral shades to a handful of stronger hues from Simons’ signature palette.
