Dan John Anderson was born and raised in rural Eastern Washington before moving to Portland, Oregon to pursue studies at the Oregon College of Art & Craft. Growing up surrounded by the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest, he developed a deep fascination with wood as a material. This interest in wood continues to be a prominent aspect of his work.
