Rich Aybar’s Double Negative takes its name from a grammatical and spatial logic in which two negations resolve into presence. The vessel form is built through subtraction-cavities, recesses, and absences that together produce an object of considerable weight. With the original mold no longer operational, the existing editions possess a sense of finality, their scarcity arising not from intention but from the natural conclusion of the work’s means of production.
