Pauletta Brooks’s ornaments transform a selection of her celebrated wearable artworks into richly layered decorations for the tree. Gemstones, minerals, crystals, and vintage or found objects are sculpted into organic forms using Brooks’s distinctive process of manipulating fiber mesh with resin, then finished with lavish gold leaf and patinas. Baroque and festive, each ornament can later be converted back into a piece of wearable jewelry, moving fluidly between adornment for the body and the home.
