Adam Miller’s Ocotillo Jar continues his meditation on the Yucca desert landscape he calls home, expanding the intimate language of his Bud Vase series into the archetypal jug form. Blooming across the stoneware surface, the ocotillo’s red-orange blooms or “little torches” that draw hummingbirds and pollinators in arid terrain, symbolize nourishment and resilience. Miller translates this gesture into the vessel itself, a form historically devoted to carrying water and sustaining life.
