Sho Ota’s Sho Ota Jug, carved from ash wood, was made using his self-built, hand-fed CNC system. This custom process allows Ota to think through making in real time, collapsing the distance between concept and execution. The jug’s precisely milled form retains the warmth and grain of the ash, while a food-safe epoxy seals the interior and a polyurethane coating protects the exterior, ensuring durability without obscuring the material’s natural character.
