Extra Trimmings reimagines the joyful maximalism of 1970s upholstery through Shore’s structural woven rope and Bethan Laura Wood’s expressive ornamental language. Inspired by an era when sofas became symbols of comfort, intimacy, and self-expression, the collection translates Wood’s hand-drawn floral motifs, scallops, and ruffled detailing into dimensional woven structure and sculptural appliqué. What was once printed surface becomes tactile construction. Rather than looking back in nostalgia, Extra Timmings uses the language of 1970s interior decoration as a point of departure to explore how ornamentation, structure, and material expression can coexist today. The collection feels both familiar and newly invented, translating the warmth and generosity of domestic design into a contemporary material vocabulary.
