Through the clever repetition of the prosaic diamond motif, Atelier Février’s Diamond rug exudes a sense of playful modernism. Designer Florian Pretet, whose designs begin as highly graphic drawings, transforms stationary patterns into artworks that achieve the illusion of visual movement. Using 100% Tibetan wool that is hand-carded and hand-spun, the rug is the result of the combined effort of more than 50 artisans who use traditional generations-old techniques. Through this fusion of artisanal technique and contemporary vision, a standard rug has been transformed into an illusory, captivating canvas.
