Michiko Sakano’s Sakano 5 playfully subverts her Rock Vessel series, exaggerating the relationship between vessel and stone. Clear glass forms lean against, or appear partially swallowed by oversized rock-like masses, made with recycled glass. The series continues the artist’s on-going exploration between Japanese and American kitsch traditions.
