This over two-foot tall ceramic sculpture of a pair of owls is handcrafted by the artist using terracotta clay and hand painted with terra sigillata, a technique most notably found in pre-Colombian ceramic art. Highlighting Kim's dedication to two age-old natural wonders - night birds and clay -this work continues the artist's fascination with the natural world. Featured in MyungJin Kim's exhibition Hoot & Bloom at The Future Perfect's San Francisco location, on view January 16-February 27, 2024.
