Alex Reed

Alex Reed (b. 1989) earned his BFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2011. Upon graduating, he was awarded the Fogelberg Fellowship from The Northern Clay Center.Alex’s work spans independent studio production and ceramic design for industry, having worked at Rookwood Pottery (Ohio) and Heath Ceramics (California). Alex writes, ”I strive to cultivate a practice that encompasses both commercial work for industry and independent speculative work. My latest work proposes a domestic utopia forever slipping just over the horizon. I've combined craft training with technical insights from commercial ceramics manufacturing in an effort to flatten seemingly disparate techniques and notions of value.”
