Natalia Triantafylli approaches Fountain, an architectural object as a site of wonder, ornament, and imaginative displacement. Drawing on the histories of garden fountains, grottoes, and decorative architecture, the work transforms water into part of its sculptural language. Its form evokes a built fragment from an invented landscape: familiar in reference, yet made strange through Triantafylli’s ornate visual vocabulary and sense of fantasy.
