Chris Wolston’s Betulia Mirror reimagines the mirror as a lush portal into a fantastical botanical world, framed by an exuberant tangle of tropical flora. Cast in bronze and finished with richly saturated patinas, the work draws inspiration from the biodiversity of Colombia, where birds of paradise, broad-leafed tropical plants, curling vines, and fantastical blooms intertwine to create a sculptural landscape. The rainbow-colored patina animates the surface with vivid transitions of green, blue, violet, gold, and crimson, evoking a botanical world in perpetual bloom.
