Floris Wubben’s Sprocket Vase transforms the vocabulary of industry into a compelling ceramic sculpture. Named after the toothed wheel used in mechanical systems, the vase echoes the form of a sprocket through a ring of radiating fins that encircle its base. Produced using the studio’s custom-built extrusion machines and refined through careful hand intervention, the work embodies Wubben’s ongoing exploration of the relationship between maker and machine.
