Anina Major’s Tears of a Light Catcher suspends six woven ceramic sculptures among hand-blown glass drops, forming a luminous constellation overhead. Inspired by the crowded ceilings of Caribbean tourist marketplaces, the work gathers glazed and stained stoneware, melted sea glass, and bubbled teardrop forms into a layered composition. Light filters through the woven sculptures and glances across the glass, casting an ever-shifting pattern of illumination and shadow. Monumental yet vulnerable, the installation suggests that fragility and brilliance are not opposing states, but qualities that make one another visible.
