Lindsey Adelman’s Illuminated Mobile II.04.01 is part of the artist’s Hieros Gamos series, drawing from the concept of sacred union: the joining of divine masculine and feminine energies, inner and outer worlds, and ancient and contemporary sensibilities. Suspended from a ceramic canopy inscribed with hand-drawn gold enamel symbols, a delicate armature of satin nickel tubing and coaxial cable supports four illuminated glass forms, each with its own unique gold enamel motif. A shower of cascading chain fringe and mineral anchors the composition, unfolding as an elegant composition of light, line, and counterweight.
