Lindsey Adelman’s Illuminated Mobile II.04.02 is part of the artist’s Hieros Gamos series, drawing from the concept of sacred union: the joining of divine masculine and feminine energies, inner and outer worlds, and ancient and contemporary sensibilities. Suspended from a ceramic canopy inscribed with hand-drawn gold enamel symbols, a delicate armature of mottled brass tubing supports four illuminated glass forms and two mineral elements. Designed to move gently with the surrounding air, the composition continuously shifts in form, subtly transforming the atmosphere of a room.
