The Future Perfect is proud to present work from VIDIVIXI, in our first ever digital exhibition. VIDIVIXI is the Mexico City based design firm led by Mark Grattan. Grattan calls upon 20th century design references (usually Italian) consistently in VIDIVIXI’s furniture collection, but the body of work holds its own as distinctly original. The work is sleek, intelligent and meticulous.
Mark Grattan was born and raised in Hudson, Ohio. He moved to New York City to attend Pratt University where he graduated with a degree in Industrial Design in 2006. His first exhibition was at The Future Perfect’s original Williamsburg outpost in a show entitled, “Too Cool for School,” a showcase of work from Pratt talent in 2005. In 2016, Grattan moved to Mexico City and VIDIVIXI came alive.
For the digital exhibition, Grattan lists film noir and old fashioned detective movies as reference points. Each piece of furniture is a protagonist in its own situation room, or perhaps a SIM in a world of Grattan’s making. The digital exhibition was brought to life by Douglas Fenton of Major Visual.
Sensual and sharp, this is furniture that demands elegance from whatever environment it’s placed in—digital or otherwise.
