Ben and Aja Blanc met while attending graduate studies at the venerable Rhode Island School of Design, where their creative work and unique aesthetics coalesced. Utilizing diverse natural elements and rich materials – including everything from horse hair to crystals – the studio creates work that merges art with functionality.

Both Ben and Aja bring extensive experience and unique strengths to their collaboration. Aja has a fine arts background, with positions at the Yale University Art Gallery and RISD Museum. Prior to founding their eponymous line, Ben operated his own successful design studio that was featured in myriad fairs and galleries including Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, the Edith Gallery in Koln, Germany, the Ohio Museum of Craft, and the Max Lang and CITE Galleries in New York.

Through their rich backgrounds Ben and Aja Blanc are able to infuse the functional with a unique creativity. The brand is also known for highlighting local, independent manufacturing unique to the United States. Their Half Moon and Apollo Mirrors, half circle cut mirrors wreathed in playful silk and mohair fringe, creates a sense of delight with their unexpected materials.

Since founding their own studio, Ben and Aja Blanc have caught the attention of buyers and critics. Their work has been featured in the “WILD" exhibition at Paris’ Maison & Objet, NYC Design Week and at the Architectural Digest Home & Design Show. Their unique aesthetic has been recognized by a range of top-tier publications including The New York Times, Elle Décor and Sight Unseen, where they appeared in the 2015 American Design Hotlist.
