Lindsey Adelman’s Illuminated Mobile II.04.03 is part of the artist’s Hieros Gamos series, drawing from the concept of sacred union: the joining of divine masculine and feminine energies, inner and outer worlds, and ancient and contemporary sensibilities. Suspended from a ceramic canopy inscribed with hand-drawn gold enamel symbols, a delicate armature of satin nickel tubing supports four illuminated glass forms and a cascading shower of chain fringe. Designed to move gently with the surrounding air, the composition continuously shifts in form, subtly transforming the atmosphere of a room.
